What Do You See?


“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path”(Proverbs 3:5-6).

“ Before I formed you in the womb in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations”(Jeremiah 1:10 NKJV).

What do you see?

What showed you what you are seeing? 

Whose report will you believe, God or the devil’s?

In Jeremiah 1, God called Jeremiah up. He was no longer just a priest. He was a priest and a prophet, sent with a message to those whom God loves-Isreal. Jeremiah didn’t want to do it. 

A prophet?

Me?

You called me to be a prophet?

Get somebody else to do it.

 

I know, Jeremiah did not say it like that, but we do. God called this man up higher, closer to His mouth to hear His decrees, but Jeremiah had some reservations. He said that he was to young, and I know that he had some fear because if we are being real, Israel could be a trip sometimes. We can be a trip sometimes too, but God affirmed Jeremiah by saying, “I formed, I knew you, I sanctified you, I ordained you as a prophet to the nations.” Wow! A prophet to nations- a rebellious nation; A nation that God wanted to correct. There are people that God wants you to correct. God wants to correct you, your thinking, and what you see first though. 

“Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant”   (Jeremiah 1:9-10).

Why do you question who God says you are when He makes it clear that He called you? 

What do you see, and who gave you the perspective that you’re looking from? Was it God, or was it someone that is not aligned with God ?

God asked Jeremiah a very important question, “ What do you see,” and after Jeremiah responded, God said, “ You have seen well.” I want to ask you today, what do you see, and will God call it well?

You must be mindful of what you are seeing and who the sender of the vision is.

The enemy took Jesus up to a high pinocle and offered Him kingdoms in Matthew 4. Jesus combated this sight with the word of God. What He saw must have been glorious by the world’s standards, but what Jesus SAW, was a world that needed Him to remain locked in to purpose. 

Lord, thank you for caring about my sight. What I see can affect how I think, and you desire for me to have the best and healthiest thought patterns. Lord, fix my gaze on you and correct the posture of my thinking. Lord, I pray to have the perspective of Joshua and Caleb. You choose the to be amongst the first to see your promises and they had a good report of what they saw. Lord, take the scales off my eyes as you did Paul. I pray that what I SEE is pleasing to you. Lord, I wat to SEE you. I pray that my perspective is heavenward and not fleshward

Take Off the Old Rags and Put on the New Garment

Have you ever had a childhood item that you loved? That thing may be worn, dirty, and falling apart, but you hold on to it because of sentimental value such as the memories attached to it . That item could be anything. It could be cloths, a toy, or even a picture. In many of our lives the old sentimental thing that we hold on to is our sin. We attach unhealthy sentimental values it. Many of these sins originated in our childhood so we hold on to it and in most cases, hope that no one ever sees it. Not every sin is private, some people are wide open with their sins because it is socially acceptable to take part in such things, or they have stooped caring what other people think it. Like those childhood items, we may tuck our sins away and bring them out in secret. In some cases, we even form unions with people who are holding on to the same item (sin) that we are holding on to. Walk on Water Faith

  Becoming great takes faith. Peter did not become great in the twinkle of an eye. He had to go through things. This same man who stood up boldly to tell people about the Holy Spirit also once denied Jesus. We have to be so prayed up in Christ because we don’t always know what our flesh or our circumstances will cause us to do. The struggle to greatness gets real! Take Up Your Cross

  God paved the way for my present and my future with the prayers that He placed into my heart many years ago. I didn’t know what new challenges I would have to overcome or what would be required of me as I uttered the sentiments of my heart into His ears. Need Prayer?

“But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail”   (Luke 22:32a). For a time, I didn’t ask people for prayer . I became protective of ‘my stuff,’ and I backed away from needing people because I had me-the army of one. I felt alone, misunderstood; all the things that I wanted no one to know about because  I got me . This mindset created offense and functional depression. I backed away so that no one would see it; no one knew me enough to recognize what it looked like.  “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat” (Luke 22:32b).   What does it look like when you are being sifted? Where is your Heart

God taught David how to fight. He fought a lot of personal battles before he was strong enough to fight the battles that we know him for today. David had to know how to depend on God in private before he could publicly show us how to depend on Him. David had to fight other people’s opinion of him even up until the moment that he was anointed to be king. Nobody looked at little David and saw a king. When they looked at him, they saw the youngest of 8 sons. They saw a shepard and they might have even seen a punk. I wonder if David’s brothers even knew that he was about that life. Did they know that he had fought and won a battle against a lion? Did they know that he took on a bear? The Anointing of God Destroys the Yoke

“The anointing of God destroys the yoke.” (Isaiah 10:27) A yoke is a life center, much like a nucleus. It holds the nutrients of what something needs to survive. A yoke can be a choke-hold that weighs a person down like a slave who is forced to work against anything that will set them free. It can be viewed as a symbol of oppression, forced submission, and defeat.  The anointing of God is His supernatural power working through you by way of the Holy Spirit to do the seemingly impossible. The anointing is like a signet of God’s presence being with you. You need the anointing of God to complete the tasks that He has divinely assigned to you as His child. Waiting for the Promise vs. Moving in Impatience

“Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? I have Chosen You: Distractions and Distress are not Your Portion

“You did not choose me, but I choose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you.”                                                        (John 15:16 ESV).    At the church that I attend, the stage/ alter has   steps that one can  ascend  on to reach the top.
