What Do You See?


“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path”(Proverbs 3:5-6).

“ Before I formed you in the womb in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations”(Jeremiah 1:10 NKJV).

What do you see?

What showed you what you are seeing? 

Whose report will you believe, God or the devil’s?

In Jeremiah 1, God called Jeremiah up. He was no longer just a priest. He was a priest and a prophet, sent with a message to those whom God loves-Isreal. Jeremiah didn’t want to do it. 

A prophet?

Me?

You called me to be a prophet?

Get somebody else to do it.

 

I know, Jeremiah did not say it like that, but we do. God called this man up higher, closer to His mouth to hear His decrees, but Jeremiah had some reservations. He said that he was to young, and I know that he had some fear because if we are being real, Israel could be a trip sometimes. We can be a trip sometimes too, but God affirmed Jeremiah by saying, “I formed, I knew you, I sanctified you, I ordained you as a prophet to the nations.” Wow! A prophet to nations- a rebellious nation; A nation that God wanted to correct. There are people that God wants you to correct. God wants to correct you, your thinking, and what you see first though. 

“Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant”   (Jeremiah 1:9-10).

Why do you question who God says you are when He makes it clear that He called you? 

What do you see, and who gave you the perspective that you’re looking from? Was it God, or was it someone that is not aligned with God ?

God asked Jeremiah a very important question, “ What do you see,” and after Jeremiah responded, God said, “ You have seen well.” I want to ask you today, what do you see, and will God call it well?

You must be mindful of what you are seeing and who the sender of the vision is.

The enemy took Jesus up to a high pinocle and offered Him kingdoms in Matthew 4. Jesus combated this sight with the word of God. What He saw must have been glorious by the world’s standards, but what Jesus SAW, was a world that needed Him to remain locked in to purpose. 

Lord, thank you for caring about my sight. What I see can affect how I think, and you desire for me to have the best and healthiest thought patterns. Lord, fix my gaze on you and correct the posture of my thinking. Lord, I pray to have the perspective of Joshua and Caleb. You choose the to be amongst the first to see your promises and they had a good report of what they saw. Lord, take the scales off my eyes as you did Paul. I pray that what I SEE is pleasing to you. Lord, I wat to SEE you. I pray that my perspective is heavenward and not fleshward

  God paved the way for my present and my future with the prayers that He placed into my heart many years ago. I didn’t know what new challenges I would have to overcome or what would be required of me as I uttered the sentiments of my heart into His ears. Waiting for the Promise vs. Moving in Impatience

“Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? Baffled by Christ: Real talk/ The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!

I’m always baffled at the stories that my mother tells me about what I was like as a child. From her point of view, I was a mini adult/ care giver. At the age of two I made her sandwiches and I knew the medicine that she needed to take when she was sick. I even remember packing her bags when she had to go into the hospital. Heart Inspection: Clean Your House

I remember growing up in a place that required inspections. I used to hate them because I knew that my mom and I would be up all night making sure that the house was clean. I understood that everything had to be just right before the apartment manager came in to make sure that things were how they needed to be, so I got to cleaning. I had two methods of cleaning depending on my mood. I had a lazy way of making everything appear spotless and I had a thorough way of cleaning that I learned from my father and grandmother. When I was in my lazy mood, I just stuffed everything into closets and under the bed because I knew that no one would look there. It produced great results and we passed the inspections. As I was up late watching videos of people talking about the personal lives of celebrities, I thought about the fact that it is crazy to worship those people. Walk on Water Faith

  Becoming great takes faith. Peter did not become great in the twinkle of an eye. He had to go through things. This same man who stood up boldly to tell people about the Holy Spirit also once denied Jesus. We have to be so prayed up in Christ because we don’t always know what our flesh or our circumstances will cause us to do. The struggle to greatness gets real! David had to fight many battles not only in the world, but in the kingdom of God because he was called to greatness. David wrote many psalms documenting his trails and successes. Two reasons you might be in the desert. Number1, preparation. Number 2, grumbling. Moses, John, and Jesus all went into the desert. Moses spent 80 years of his life in a desert. The first time that Moses went into the desert he was being prepared to be used of the Lord. Moses had to be torn away from everything that he knew so that nothing about his former self could interfere with the voice of the Lord. A lot of times when we hear God’s voice, we try to get advice from people that may not know God on the level that he desires for us to know him on. Moses had to learn how to be alone with God and depend on his instructions instead of other people’s opinion. Just imagine, what if Moses was still in Egypt when God gave him the official ok to be used as a tool to lead the Israelites to freedom. God’s word is a treasure box.  Although you feel as if you have looked through it a million times, when you go back to search through it again, you will always find new things. My heart is on Moses right now because my desire is to have the relationship that he had with Christ. He faced a lot of opposition on his journey to the promise, but he understood the power of knowing  who he was in Jesus and spending time in his presence.
