The Secret Place

“Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them” (Mark 9:2 NKJV).

Jesus is taking you somewhere. Will you go, and can He trust you

with the assignment that He is sending you forth with?

Jesus could’ve chosen anyone to see Him in the secret place, but He choose Peter, James, John, and you. We saw Jesus being both human and God in a uniquely divine manner. We saw the type of encounter that caused Moses’ face to shine in Exodus 34:29, and we saw that God is calling us all up higher in Him. This is not about just getting a prayer through, this about getting into a deeper place with Father God and seeing Him in a way that many of you are praying to see Him in if you are reading this.

God wants for us to see Him. His divine glory is all around us, but the secret place is where the mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed.

“ Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it” (Genesis 28:10-12 NKJV).

“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of

God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway

between heaven and earth” (John 1:51 NASB).

In the secret place, God is training us on what to do, what to say, and how to be with Him. The invitation that we received in Mark 9, shows us what we can see when we get alone with the Father. It reveals to us what we can expect to hear and witness- greatness.

God wants for us to encounter Him, but we get lost in the ‘list’ in stead of His presence. I pose this question to you. How much of God do you want? Do you want to experience God as Jesus showed us that we can in Mark 9, and as Moses did, or are you content with your ‘list’ only, seeking God only to get a prayer answered?

There are assignments and revelations awaiting you in the secret place. Jesus said in Luke 8:10, “ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God.”

God wants you to want Him, and He will show you, you!

Lord, thank you for the call to come unto you. Thank you for this invitation for us to enter into your presence. Lord, train me to respond to you accordingly and forgive me for every time that I did not. Thank you for this revelation today- that I am welcomed and loved. Thank you for divine access to know the mysteries of heaven. I say yes, Lord. I say yes to your will and to this invitation. I say yes to the call to come up higher in you, for more of you. Help me Lord, guide me, protect me, cover me, keep me, and hug me often by your Holy Spirit. I want to see you, know you, and hear you even the more. In Jesus name, amen.

The Barrel of Meal Shall Not Waste, Neither Shall the Cruse of Oil Fail: RESET

This morning as I was thinking about the fact that God gives us a new start each year, the word reset came to mind. I tried to figure out why that word came to mind, and I began to look up its meaning. I have listed the meaning in the noun, verb, and adjective forms. “But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail” (Luke 22:32a). For a time, I didn’t ask people for prayer . I became protective of ‘my stuff,’ and I backed away from needing people because I had me-the army of one. I felt alone, misunderstood; all the things that I wanted no one to know about because I got me . This mindset created offense and functional depression. I backed away so that no one would see it; no one knew me enough to recognize what it looked like. “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat” (Luke 22:32b). The Importance of Knowing How to Pray

No matter what mental state you are in, where you are in life, or who you have around you, prayer will always be the heartbeat of your survival. You need to know how to pray during both the mountain top experiences and the valley experiences. If no one ever taught me anything, I learned how to express myself to God through prayer. Prayer isn’t always about asking God for things, but you can actually sit with Him and tell Him how you feel. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Mirror Mirror on the Wall

I think that we have all seen the movie Snow White , right? I’m not going to go into a summary of the whole movie, but there are a few parts that I would like to draw attention to. In the movie, the queen loved to look into this magic mirror and ask it “mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of them all?” and she was all good as long as the mirror said that it was her. She put this action into practice on multiple occasions, but a time came when the mirror told her that there was one fairer than her. The queen was not happy about this and wanted to take snow white out because she was more beautiful than her. Snow White was also a lot more accepting and nicer than the queen. My question for you today is, what does you spiritual mirror look like? When you look into that spiritual mirror, what do you see?
