The Secret Place

“Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them” (Mark 9:2 NKJV).

Jesus is taking you somewhere. Will you go, and can He trust you

with the assignment that He is sending you forth with?

Jesus could’ve chosen anyone to see Him in the secret place, but He choose Peter, James, John, and you. We saw Jesus being both human and God in a uniquely divine manner. We saw the type of encounter that caused Moses’ face to shine in Exodus 34:29, and we saw that God is calling us all up higher in Him. This is not about just getting a prayer through, this about getting into a deeper place with Father God and seeing Him in a way that many of you are praying to see Him in if you are reading this.

God wants for us to see Him. His divine glory is all around us, but the secret place is where the mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed.

“ Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it” (Genesis 28:10-12 NKJV).

“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open and the angels of

God going up and down on the Son of Man, the one who is the stairway

between heaven and earth” (John 1:51 NASB).

In the secret place, God is training us on what to do, what to say, and how to be with Him. The invitation that we received in Mark 9, shows us what we can see when we get alone with the Father. It reveals to us what we can expect to hear and witness- greatness.

God wants for us to encounter Him, but we get lost in the ‘list’ in stead of His presence. I pose this question to you. How much of God do you want? Do you want to experience God as Jesus showed us that we can in Mark 9, and as Moses did, or are you content with your ‘list’ only, seeking God only to get a prayer answered?

There are assignments and revelations awaiting you in the secret place. Jesus said in Luke 8:10, “ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God.”

God wants you to want Him, and He will show you, you!

Lord, thank you for the call to come unto you. Thank you for this invitation for us to enter into your presence. Lord, train me to respond to you accordingly and forgive me for every time that I did not. Thank you for this revelation today- that I am welcomed and loved. Thank you for divine access to know the mysteries of heaven. I say yes, Lord. I say yes to your will and to this invitation. I say yes to the call to come up higher in you, for more of you. Help me Lord, guide me, protect me, cover me, keep me, and hug me often by your Holy Spirit. I want to see you, know you, and hear you even the more. In Jesus name, amen.

Have you ever had a childhood item that you loved? That thing may be worn, dirty, and falling apart, but you hold on to it because of sentimental value such as the memories attached to it . That item could be anything. It could be cloths, a toy, or even a picture. In many of our lives the old sentimental thing that we hold on to is our sin. We attach unhealthy sentimental values it. Many of these sins originated in our childhood so we hold on to it and in most cases, hope that no one ever sees it. I became protective of ‘my stuff,’ and I backed away from needing people because I had me-the army of one. God taught David how to fight. He fought a lot of personal battles before he was strong enough to fight the battles that we know him for today. David had to know how to depend on God in private before he could publicly show us how to depend on Him. “The anointing of God destroys the yoke.” (Isaiah 10:27) A yoke is a life center, much like a nucleus. It holds the nutrients of what something needs to survive. A yoke can be a choke-hold that weighs a person down like a slave who is forced to work against anything that will set them free. Waiting for the Promise vs. Moving in Impatience

“Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old?
