The Process of Faithing It: Trusting Jesus with Your Faith

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction” (Mark 5:34 NKJV).

Can you imagine Jesus in a crowd? Everyone has a need, but His target in that moment is to go and build the faith of a little girl’s family at the request of her father because they think that she will die. The father is scared, but Jesus was on the way until He felt something. This feeling was different, but powerful. Jesus turns around looking, asking questions, but finds his answer in the form of a woman, standing and looking amazed at what just happened to her. After 13 years of anemia, tiredness, dizzy spells, soiled clothing, and impacted relationships, she is healed.

This woman with an issue of blood had spent all of her money, but decided to trust Jesus with her faith, which was all that she had left. Jesus was not too busy to stop and ask, “Who touched me?”. The disciples reminded Jesus of all the people that were around them, but this touch was different. Someone had touched Jesus in such a sincere way that it caused virtue to leave His body. Jesus could have kept going, but this matter, this person, this faith, needed His undivided attention.

This touch did not seek to draw attention, but got the attention of the Savior of the world. Faith tapped Jesus on the shoulder when this woman simply pressed her way to touch the hem of His garment as He was moving through a busy crowd.

I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. (Matthew 17:20 NLT).

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Have you ever gotten out of your bed determined to press your way, expecting a shift to occur, then some how end up standing in amazement at what Jesus has done for you even though your faith was the only fuel that you had to get to His garment?

This blog was originally entitled, ‘Chasing Peace,’ but Jesus says “My peace I leave with you.” God wants for you to know that He has made room for you, and that your faith gets His attention. You’ve endured many things that left you spent, broken, and dismayed, but God is inviting you into His presence, and wants you to know that He has time for you.

Jesus had time for the woman with the issue of blood. He stopped for her because both a withdraw and a deposit happened. Jesus gave this woman His undivided attention despite the crowd, and He spoke to her, called her daughter, and said, “Your faith has made you whole. God in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Jesus has stopped for you today. What do you need? Will you be made whole?

Lord, I thank you for your undivided attention. You have stopped for me, and you call me daughter. You care about my needs and have given me a measure of faith that shifts atmospheres in my favor for your glory. Thank you for meeting me in my press and for not allowing me to drown under pressure. I will not be distracted. I will not be dismayed. I will get up, in faith, knowing that despite any crowd, you see me, and make a deposit into my life for your glory. I thank you for the living testimony, and for the living faith, of the woman with the issue of blood because it still speaks. I decree and declare that my life will never be the same as her life was never the same after her encounter with Jesus. In Jesus name, I believe. Amen.

Author’s Note: “He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague” (Mark 5:34 KJV).

Pick a word from your favorite version of this verse, and talk to God about how it blesses you.

My word from this version of the testimony of the woman with the issue of blood is ‘whole’. God is faithful to make us whole if we have faith. Jesus told this woman what her faith did for her.

If you have stopped believing God, trust Him again.

This woman shows me what faith can do. Jesus acknowledged her faith, and her believing that her desire would be so, according to His will, shifted what plagued her for 13 years.

Thank you for healing, Lord! Thank you for the process of what is causing things to shift in my life. No more plagues or afflictions, in Jesus name. I have faith, Lord. You call me daughter. I have peace. In Jesus name, amen.

See Yourself the Way that God Sees You

In 2010 I was lost. I did not know who I was or where I was going. I was sinking. I was not living a life of purpose, but I was merely existing. That all changed when God injected Himself into the mix. I cannot say that I was looking for Him, but I can say that He definitely took the opportunity to change my heart through love. God loved me during a time when I placed a man’s attention over seeking and falling in love with the attention that He was showing me. God had already placed so much in me that He saw fit to not allow what He had already started to be wasted. I was in a backslidden state, but yet God loved me enough to still use others to show me what He thought of me. When God begins a work in you, He is faithful to bring it to completion. I desired God, but I was not running after Him. God meant me in a dark and lonely place. He continued to shower me with His love and He allowed the roots that He had already planted in my life to go from a dormmate state to a growin...

The Healing Prophet

I did not desire to write this, but I heard this title and agreed to be obedient. I once read a statement by Tasha Cobbs Leonard. She shared that she would go and sing, return home, and then feel depressed. I understand that feeling more than I would like to admit.   Depression is a weapon the enemy uses against those whom God has anointed in many areas. Depression has stagnation attached to it, and its assignment is to either kill you, isolate you, or both.   As a therapist, I help many people navigate through depression. I advise increased therapy sessions and medication when needed. I tell them all the ways to battle what has been battling them while being in the very same fight myself.   Depression is nobody’s friend. It is an enemy that wounds.   The Healing Prophet is an intentional title. It speaks to the heart of the one who carries and speaks the oracles of God, and  today, God has a word for you, and for me. “Get up and believe Me.”   I...

FEARLESS FEAR FIGHTER: I CAME TO TAKE THE DEVIL'S HEAD OFF!!!!

We are called to win a battle that some of us are scared to fight. We show up to the battle ready to go at it with the enemy but decide to hide once we see his face. No matter how big or small your enemy is. No matter how beautiful or ugly it or they may appear, God has already given you everything that you need to defeat him, but you must come out of hiding and change your mindset concerning how you will win the war. Israel had soldiers and weapons, but the size and wolf tickets that a giant was selling, scared them. This giant came out faithfully to taint them and their God, but fear caused them to refuse to take his head off. The giant’s tactics was working until David showed up. Sometimes we have been in a situation so long that it takes someone else to come into our situations to help us see that our problems can be defeated. David didn’t see what the other soldiers saw every day, so his mindset was different. He was not gripped by fear and the insecurity that the giant had bu...

Advanced From Slavery

There are times when people abandon you so that you can see that God never will. It may sound strange, but people hurt you so that you can be advanced. A bad situation, no matter how traumatic or painful it is, can do things for you that your loved ones never could if you just allow God to navigate you through the process. Pain is a unique opportunity for you to see 2 Corinthians 12:10 manifested in your life. It is one thing to hear about the scriptures, but it is totally different to have those scriptures come to life for your personally. Can you imagine loving God, but still becoming a slave? Joseph, Nehemiah, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego know that feeling all to well. These men loved God, but they had to go through some things to see that God loved them also, despite their situations. In today’s society, we may not be slaves that have to do what the people in the bible had to do, but we are still slaves in some way. God is having to sift through the love of money...

Identity Arising

A believer, in the body of Christ, is someone who believes in Jesus and that He exist. They believe that He is the son of God and they believe that He died   for their sins and rose again. A Christian is someone who not only believes that Jesus is the son of God and rose again, but they are a person who is identifying and trying to emulate the life and actions of Jesus daily. It is easy to be a believer, but it is hard to be a Christian. It is hard dying to yourself and humbling yourself to apologize when you are wrong. It is hard to give up the pleasures of the flesh and it is hard to live up to the excellence of Christ. Trust me when I say that I know that is hard, but it is so worth it. “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him” (James 1:12 NLT). I sin daily. I mess up and I don’t want to apologize all the time, I don’t want to forgive all the time, but the g...

When Pain is Your SpringBoard

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, He   rescues those whose spirits are crushed”(Psalm 34:18 NLT). I recently called my father to tell him that I loved him, and he didn’t say it back. I felt led to call him and choose to not take his response personally, although I wanted to. I deserved to; but God is doing a work in me concerning this area. I try to make things pretty, but hurt is never pretty and forgiveness is rarely easy. I’m challenged to forgive and to not be offended, even when I deserve to be. People do things that I don’t like, but because I want all that God has, I have to be intentional about dealing with both my heart and my hurt. It may seem crazy, but the best thing that anyone can do for you is to count you out and hurt you. Hurt can either damage you or it can create a passion in you that God can use for His glory. I am the definition of a foolish thing that God has chosen to use. All that He requires from me is that I submit to Him, even when I don’t ...

Catching Fire

Have you ever tried to catch fire? I mean really catch fire? That notion seems hard and it seems crazy, but in this upcoming year, you need to get your catcher’s mitt ready because it’s time to catch fire! The fire that you need to be preparing for right now is not a natural fire, but it is a more powerful fire. It is an unquenchable fire. It is the fire of the Holy Ghost. God wants to ignite you like never before. He is tired of his people bei ng lack luster. He did not create us to live a mundane life. We are more than a 9-5 job. Our purpose and destiny is greater than any degree than we can get from a college or university. Stop believing that your title defines who you are. God defines who you are. No longer can you put off your purpose and your destiny. Put the fire extinguishers of life down and get aligned with your father so that you can catch his fire and run with it. God does not want for you to sit on the ideas that he has given you. Stop pushing them ...

The Secret Place

“ Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them” ( Mark 9:2  NKJV). Jesus is taking you somewhere. Will you go, and can He trust you  with the assignment that He is sending you forth with?   Jesus could’ve chosen anyone to see Him in the  secret  place, but He choose Peter, James, John, and you. We saw Jesus being both human and God in a uniquely divine manner. We saw the type of encounter that caused Moses’ face to shine in  Exodus 34:29 , and we saw that God is calling us all up higher in Him. This is not about just getting a prayer through, this about getting into a deeper place with Father God and seeing Him in a way that many of you are praying to see Him in if you are reading this.  God wants for us to see Him. His divine glory is all around us, but the secret place is where the mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed.   “   N...

The Truth Shall Set You Free

I was in an interesting place six years ago. I was unhappy, I was in an un-ordained and emotionally draining relationship, and I was in need of something or someone to rescue me. I kept making the mistake of thinking that I could fill myself up with pills or that somehow my relationship would give me purpose, but those things didn’t work. I was in need of Jesus, but I didn’t know how much I needed Him. Even when I accepted Him as my savior, some negative behaviors still remained. I was still filling my empty places with things that couldn’t give me peace instead of going to the prince of peace. I’m still learning to find my peace in Christ. In this world, we have to learn to break up with those things that many of us are not even aware that we have made gods in place of the everlasting God that we really need to allow to reign over our lives. This time of year is special to me because it was when my Father found me in a desperate state. It is so easy to fake a smile, but God k...

What are you connecting with spiritually? Are you connecting with God or are you connecting with the flesh?   I often tell one of my friends that she connects with a certain individual that she knows so well because they both have a habit of leaving their crowns at home. When you are filled with the spirit of God, don’t try to hide the glory that he desires to show through you. The connection that they have is a spiritual one because they are equipped to pour into each other spiritually. Today I realized that I have a connection with an individual that I work with because I do to myself spiritually what he does to himself in the natural. I work with children and many of them have uncommon gifts, but the things that they have experienced in the world make them connect more with their flesh than with the things that God has placed on the inside of them. Many of them don’t know who they are “yet” in Christ so they act as if they are not royalty and precious in the eye sight of the...
