“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction” (Mark 5:34 NKJV).
Can you imagine Jesus in a crowd? Everyone has a need, but His target in that moment is to go and build the faith of a little girl’s family at the request of her father because they think that she will die. The father is scared, but Jesus was on the way until He felt something. This feeling was different, but powerful. Jesus turns around looking, asking questions, but finds his answer in the form of a woman, standing and looking amazed at what just happened to her. After 13 years of anemia, tiredness, dizzy spells, soiled clothing, and impacted relationships, she is healed.
This woman with an issue of blood had spent all of her money, but decided to trust Jesus with her faith, which was all that she had left. Jesus was not too busy to stop and ask, “Who touched me?”. The disciples reminded Jesus of all the people that were around them, but this touch was different. Someone had touched Jesus in such a sincere way that it caused virtue to leave His body. Jesus could have kept going, but this matter, this person, this faith, needed His undivided attention.
This touch did not seek to draw attention, but got the attention of the Savior of the world. Faith tapped Jesus on the shoulder when this woman simply pressed her way to touch the hem of His garment as He was moving through a busy crowd.
“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” (Matthew 17:20 NLT).
Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Have you ever gotten out of your bed determined to press your way, expecting a shift to occur, then some how end up standing in amazement at what Jesus has done for you even though your faith was the only fuel that you had to get to His garment?
This blog was originally entitled, ‘Chasing Peace,’ but Jesus says “My peace I leave with you.” God wants for you to know that He has made room for you, and that your faith gets His attention. You’ve endured many things that left you spent, broken, and dismayed, but God is inviting you into His presence, and wants you to know that He has time for you.
Jesus had time for the woman with the issue of blood. He stopped for her because both a withdraw and a deposit happened. Jesus gave this woman His undivided attention despite the crowd, and He spoke to her, called her daughter, and said, “Your faith has made you whole. God in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Jesus has stopped for you today. What do you need? Will you be made whole?
Lord, I thank you for your undivided attention. You have stopped for me, and you call me daughter. You care about my needs and have given me a measure of faith that shifts atmospheres in my favor for your glory. Thank you for meeting me in my press and for not allowing me to drown under pressure. I will not be distracted. I will not be dismayed. I will get up, in faith, knowing that despite any crowd, you see me, and make a deposit into my life for your glory. I thank you for the living testimony, and for the living faith, of the woman with the issue of blood because it still speaks. I decree and declare that my life will never be the same as her life was never the same after her encounter with Jesus. In Jesus name, I believe. Amen.

Pick a word from your favorite version of this verse, and talk to God about how it blesses you.
My word from this version of the testimony of the woman with the issue of blood is ‘whole’. God is faithful to make us whole if we have faith. Jesus told this woman what her faith did for her.
If you have stopped believing God, trust Him again.
This woman shows me what faith can do. Jesus acknowledged her faith, and her believing that her desire would be so, according to His will, shifted what plagued her for 13 years.
Thank you for healing, Lord! Thank you for the process of what is causing things to shift in my life. No more plagues or afflictions, in Jesus name. I have faith, Lord. You call me daughter. I have peace. In Jesus name, amen.
