We are called to win a battle that some of us are
scared to fight. We show up to the battle ready to go at it with the enemy but
decide to hide once we see his face. No matter how big or small your enemy is.
No matter how beautiful or ugly it or they may appear, God has already given
you everything that you need to defeat him, but you must come out of hiding and
change your mindset concerning how you will win the war.
Israel had soldiers and weapons, but the size and wolf
tickets that a giant was selling, scared them. This giant came out faithfully
to taint them and their God, but fear caused them to refuse to take his head
off. The giant’s tactics was working until David showed up. Sometimes we have
been in a situation so long that it takes someone else to come into our situations
to help us see that our problems can be defeated. David didn’t see what the
other soldiers saw every day, so his mindset was different. He was not gripped
by fear and the insecurity that the giant had built up in an entire army of men
did not scare him.
Sometimes our bravery will intimate those closest to
us. David’s older brother was intimated by his fearlessness. David’s brother
was in the army, but yet he was just as scared as the other men. Some people are
intimated when you actively take steps to battle something that has them
chained in fear. They can’t escape the fear, but they don’t want you to be able
to escape it either because you don’t know it as well as they do.
The enemy’s job is to stop you from fulfilling the
call on your life at all cost. One of his tactics is fear; another one is intimidation.
He thinks that he knows everything that you’re going to do because he has
watched you, but God has different plans on how you will defeat him. Israel had
the traditional weapons of that time. They had chariots and swords, but all God
needed was someone who had courage, boldness, smooth stones, and a slingshot to
shut the enemy up.
Your weapons are divine in and through Jesus. God is
calling you to deal with the problems in your life and in your family differently
than how your grand-mama may have dealt with them, but you gotta stop being
afraid of the problem and know that God has called you to take the devil’s head
off.
David took Goliath’s head off! He took Goliath’s weapons
and caused those that were attached to him to flee. God wants to deal with the
problem, but you gotta stop being scared and seek him on the weapons of warfare
that He wants you to use.
Lord, In Jesus name, I pray to not be distracted or
discouraged from pursuing the call you have on my life. I pray to always
remember who You say I am and I pray to not be afraid of the things that the
enemy has assigned to cause fear in my life. Lord, I pray to know the weapons
of warfare that you have given me to use and I pray that you will show me how
to use them successfully. I pray to not walk by fear, but to walk by faith. I
pray to remember that you will protect me in the places that you have sent me
into and I pray that your word and promises will be stored in heart. In Jesus
name, Amen
