“So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron
and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the
Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were
winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him
and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the
other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset” (Exodus 17:10-12).
Can you imagined being called to be a leader? Moses went
through a lot just so that he could be used to lead Israel out of bondage.
Moses was talked about by his family, he was misunderstood because of his
relationship with God, and the people he was called to lead always wanted to choose
a new leader because they didn’t respect the direction that he was called to
take them in. When you reject your leader, you reject God. The people were
rejecting God when they disrespected the leadership of Moses because he was God
led. Even when God was upset with Israel, Moses prayed for them. Just think
about the amount of bad things that didn’t come your way because of the prayers
that your leaders prayed. I thank God for the leaders that he gave me. I’ve
learned intimacy with the Lord from them. Their hearts are so pure and the
alter of both the church and their hearts are clean.
Just like Moses, your leader has been through a lot just so
that they can lead you out of bondage. Stop talking about your leaders and
respect them instead. Pray for your leaders. Some of you don’t even know the
amount of time that they spend praying for your soul. They go through a tremendous
amount of warfare on your behalf and because of the call on their own lives.
Many of us make the mistake of thinking that our leaders are
not regular ppeople because of their anointing. We neglect praying for them
because we think that every part of their lives is made, but warfare is real.
The devil hates that someone has the boldness to lead others to Christ. He
wants to embarrass them and take them out because their anointing is connected
to unlocking the destiny and plans that God has for your life.
Learn how to support your leaders. They cannot do every task
alone. Moses needed help as he was following the instructions of the lord. Saturate
your leaders in prayer and respect their call. Stop putting them down and stop
putting your mouth against those whom God has anointed.
Prayer for leaders
Lord I pray that you
forgive us for not praying for our leaders the way that we should. I pray that
you cover them in the midst of the busyness in life. I pray that they are not
distracted from you. I pray that you cover all hurt and cause every negative
word that is spoken against them to fall to the ground and bear no fruit. Lord
I pray for their joy and peace in you. I pray against all attacks that the
enemy has planned for them and I receive through this prayer that those very
attacks have already failed. I pray that you cover my leaders with your grace.
I pray that your hand continues to both cover and protect them. I pray that
they are not weary and that they are encouraged. I pray that no word that they
have spoken falls to the ground. Lord I thank you for the yes that they give
you in their personal walk every day. I thank you for their praise God and I
pray that every need in their family is meant. I pray for their protection Lord
and that you give your angels charge over them. I pray that all things are
working for their good and I pray for their minds. God they give so much to us
on your half and I thank you for their obedience. I pray that they are not
weighed down by the world or by people. Lord forgive us for any thought,
offense, or word that we may have spoken against our leaders. I pray that their
prayers do not go unanswered. I pray that people receive what you have poured
into the leaders that you choose to speak your word, In Jesus name Amen.
