Sometimes we need for God to check us. We need for
him to put us in our place and to remind us of what we have been asking him
about. My desire, starting now, is to dedicate my attitude and my job to him. I
do not want for my job to just be a place where I can make an income, I want
for it to be a ministry. Now, there is one major thing that stands in the way
of my desire and that is my attitude. I have to change my way of thinking to
see the way that God sees.
It is very easy to become like your co-workers if
you do not watch yourself. During the orientation at the place of my employment,
the instructor advised my class to leave our hearts in the car. During the
first couple of days that was hard for me to do, but after being there a while,
I found myself leaving my feelings at the door on many occasions. Shame on me! How
do I show Christ when I leave him in my car?
Today as I
was doing my hair, God reminded me that I was praying for the population that I
now work with before I even started to work at my current place of employment.
I didn’t understand why I was praying for abused children, orphanages, and
group homes. I didn’t understand why I began to ask for an anointing for
children, but I also didn’t know that God would send me to the very places that
I was praying for.
Our job, my job, is to carry the cross no matter
what circumstances or people tell me to put it down. My days can be filled with
bruised emotions because the people that I want to help say things that are
hurtful, but when those times occur, I have to look to God because he has had
worst things said and done to him.
Can you imagine being sent to a people who hurt,
abuse, talk about, lie one and spit on you? Can you imagine trying to minster
to people and they tell you to shut up? Jesus endured all these things and more
while still maintaining a pure, loving and genuine heart…….on a cross….
This year I challenge you to NOT check your feelings
at the door. I challenge you to not only carry the cross the Christ bore, but
to also carry his heart.
Tip of the day: The
things you spend the most time thinking about, are the things that you are allowing
to have control over your life, emotions and actions!
Remember your
prayers, God might put you in the midst of his answer to them!!!!
