Have you ever had a “who me” moment? In Christ, “who me” moments happen every day. It’s exciting and it’s shocking at the same time because you are getting to know someone that already knows everything about you. God is observant. He knows the number of hair that is on our head and he knows every situation that we will ever go through before it even happens. Before I allowed God to come into my heart, I thought I had myself figured out. I knew that I was quiet and I knew that I was observant, not liked, rejected ect. As you see all the things that I knew about myself were not positive, but God came in and changed that. God showed me who I was to him. This is very important in the life of a broken vessel because God will send people into your life to encourage you; he will come into your bedroom late at night and whisper sweet things into your ear. I cannot tell you the number of times that God has held the tissue box as I cried out to him about some matter. I cried out to him when I was not living for him. I’m not the only one that has ever done that. Notice God in those moments. He is a very present help and he shows up. My prayer for you is that you will open up your eyes and see him. You cry and you seek God when many of you may not even be intending to. That’s an awesome revelation for you because that special place that God placed on the inside of you is telling you that you need him. That my friends is the start of a “who me” moment!
Saul had one of the most awesome “who me” moments as he was traveling to Damascus. On his journey he was blinded by a light that we so bright that it knocked him off of his horse. This light was so bright that it blinded him. He was with other men, but he was the only one that saw and spoke to the Lord. God gave him instructions to go into the city. When he got there he did not eat and was blind for 3 days. God then showed Saul to his disciple Ananias and told him to go and place his hands on Saul's eyes so that he could receive his sight back. Ananias did not want to go because of who Saul was, but God was about to do a new thing in Saul. God told Ananias "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel" (Acts 9:15). When Ananias arrived, he placed his hands on Saul's eyes and scales feel off. Saul was in the midst of a "who me" moment !!!!! Saul got a new set of eyes. He got eyes that allowed him to see the Lord. As stated before, he was the only one that God allowed to see him. This might be you. You are the only one out of your friends that God is revealing himself to. Sometimes God has to allow us to have moments that knock us on our behinds, but we still fail to see God. That is what those moments are intended for. Saul got it. He didn't ignore God when he saw him. God wants to show you who you are in him. It does not matter what people have said about you. It does not matter who you used to be. God is calling you into something new! God is causing you to have a "who me" moment.
