Everything that you go through is preparing you for your moment. Your moment can be anything.
In the life of John the Baptist , even as a fetus ( that boy was filled with
the Holy Ghost before he even stepped out of the womb) was in preparation for
what he would one day become. He was the joy of his parent’s life, but he had a
purpose and a plan in Christ, so he had work to do. John grew up in a desert
place. He ate locus and honey "and the
child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of
his shewing unto Israel" (Luke 1:80).Some people may feel as if he could have
had the life of luxury because he was such a blessing, but he was not meant to
be just a blessing and answered prayer
to only his parents, but he was meant to be a blessing to the world. John was
sent to prepare the way for Christ. His message was good news, but some people
did not want to hear what he had to say. He was telling people to get it
together because someone is coming that is greater than he was. John was first,
but that second man was going to blow him out of the water. Do you have people
like that in your life? They may tell you things that you don’t want to hear,
but their words are meant to prepare you for some moment in your life. You may
not want to hear about leaving your mate
alone and you may not want anybody to tell you to stop doing some bad habit,
but ask God what their warnings are preparing you for. I have been told that God is growing me up.
That’s something to hear! GOD is growing me up! There may be some people that
you have to omit in your life and there might be some places that you have to
move on from, but it’s all a part of the growing process.
Lesson
learned: I work in retail and let me tell you, you learn a lot when you have to deal with
people. I suggest that everyone work in retail at least once in their lives because
it teaches you how to hold your tongue, serve others and truly treat people how
you want to be treated. You can’t go off on people when they are wrong, you
have to smile your way through it and move on.
I think that it is so rude when people put money on the counter and
slide it to you, so I wanted to treat people the same way that they were treating
me. When a customer handed me money in this fashion, I wanted to give it back
to them the same way that I received it, but I was convicted every time. I had
to repent and know who was watching me. Ya see, we have instances in life where
we do things that we know we should not be doing but we do them anyway. Take
times like this and know that they are learning opportunities from God. Think
of it as a big light being shined on
something that God wants to work out of you in your life. I’m called to people
so I can’t treat people that are in pain the way that they may treat me, I have
to understand why they do what they do and speak the words that God gives me
into their lives…
