Battles of a Royal Priesthood

You fight because you are royal, but this fight is not just against the world; you also have inner battles that you need to win also. The battle that one fights within themselves is one of the biggest battles that you will have to win in your life time. You already have an enemy against you (the devil is your enemy), why are you becoming your own worst enemy also? Learn to believe what God has already said about you. You have to know that you are good enough despite what your circumstances throw at you and you have to know that you are smart enough if the Lord saw fit to send you. King David was not trained on how to build and keep a kingdom. He was not even the first choice as king, but he was the holy choice. God will move people out their positions to make room for you if you are His choice. Be mindful concerning how you represent the Lord where you are right now in your life. You may be over looked. You may be under paid. You may even be unpopular, but the Lord will affirm yo...

When Destiny is Calling Your Name

When destiny is calling your name, it could cost you your purpose if you do not respond. Purpose can sometimes pull you away from all that you are familiar with as it was in the case of both Abraham and Moses. Both of these men had to leave their familiar surroundings so that they could be made and developed into the leaders that God had called them to be. Sometimes your call will seem crazy to those that don’t know God. Stop placing such high esteem on the opinions of what other people have to say about you and walk in the things that God has told you to do. In God, you will accomplish more following Him then you ever will falling into line with the state of mind that people have assigned to you. Don’t look at your job, where you are in life right now, or the negative words that people have spoken over your life. Make up in your mind that you will look at the big master piece painting of GOD instead of the small perishing polaroid of man! ~ You fall when you lose focus. St...

Don’t Be The One To Sabotage Yourself On The Way To Destiny!

Destiny is a place that we all want to go right? We want to reach high heights without conquering or going through low lows and we tend to sabotage ourselves when we move out of position to quickly or not fast enough. When you decide to do what God has told you to do, you will be met with results that will blow your mind. It is not about getting everyone else’s opinion about what God has already spoken over you; you need to learn how to listen to the Holy Spirit and be content with His voice. There is nothing wrong seeking confirmation or spiritual guidance, but you need to know the difference between someone who agrees with you in the Lord and someone who is oppositional to voice of God in your life. We all seek God and we all want more of Him, but we don’t want to go through what it may take to reach Him. Sometimes it takes all night prayer and pushing back your plate in order to get more of God. You may even need to leave that boyfriend/ girlfriend alone and stop talking to ...

The Importance of Knowing How to Pray

No matter what mental state you are in, where you are in life, or who you have around you, prayer will always be the heartbeat of your survival. You need to know how to pray during both the mountain top experiences and the valley experiences. If no one ever taught me anything, I learned how to express myself to God through prayer. Prayer isn’t always about asking God for things, but you can actually sit with Him and tell Him how you feel. There have been moments in my life where I felt like the Lord was the only one that I could talk to about what was going on in my life. You have to get into a place where you begin to communicate with God as you would with anyone else. There are times when I speak out loud to God because I know that He is around me. God’s presence is peace, it changes the atmosphere, and it will shift your entire mood. Once you’ve talked to the Father, you know that everything will be ok just because He is around you. I pray that for anyone that needs it. I p...

Refreshment for the Journey

You cannot tell everybody your dreams because your dreams might be bigger than their expectation of you. You will do things for God that  man did not see coming. Learn to lean on the opinions of Jesus instead of allowing yourself to become esteemed by the opinions of man. Those folks do not know you or the potential that God has placed on the inside of you. Some of you even have family members that don’t know the real you. Think of yourself as a plan that God has up His sleeve. You are unexpected, but powerful through His grace. Nobody saw Joseph coming. His own brothers did not even know who he was to God. People don’t always treat you like the One who created you. That is why you have to learn to see yourself the way that God sees you and have no bitterness in your heart toward man. Forgive those people who talk about you and use you. Joseph had to forgive his brothers because God was going to use him to protect them. People have no idea that you may be the one that God is...

God Sees the True Condition of Our Hearts

Jesus didn’t walk around trying to prove His anointing to people so why are you? So what if those people don’t believe that you are called and so what if they don’t accept the word that God has given you for their lives. That is their loss not your yours. Remember that your anointing is from the Lord and not to be used as a popularity card. Check your heart and motives before God. I had to be reminded that God sees our motives. We can get away with a lot when it comes to man, but nothing is hidden from God. God knows your heart. Lord put me in a place with you where nothing matters but the state of my heart before your eyes. Lord help me to see you and Lord help me to make you my confidence and not popularity. We should never want to be in a place where the fame of being anointed takes precedence over God. We never want to be in a place where God stops speaking to us. We never want to be Saul. That is a miserable place to be in. We should never want to be in the place of believ...

Knowing Who You Are vs. Walking in Who You Are

Count yourself as blessed when God releases a word to you concerning who you are to Him. Don’t be so discouraged about the issues of life that you dismiss God when He is trying to encourage you. There are people at this very moment who know who they are in God and to Him, but they are refusing to walk in it. They are denying their purpose and they have grown comfortable in a life style and in a mindset that God is calling them out of. How many people actually know that they are called to preach but they refuse to accept that call on their lives because of fear, their current lifestyle or because they flat out don’t want to do it. The thing that we neglect to understand when we deny the call that God places on our lives is that He has need of us and that there are other people who are attached to our call. God actually wants to use us to save and transform lives, but that begins with us submitting to Him and doing what He has asked us to do. Stop being so comfortable with sittin...

The Vision is for an Appointed Time

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). People make the mistake of being more focused on the opinion of man more so than on the opinion that God has concerning them because men cannot always see what God thinks of His chosen vessels. Everyone is not ready for your prophecy. What God says concerning you is true no matter what anybody else has to say or what they think of you. Joseph had such an awesome dream that he couldn’t tell everyone because they were not ready for it. His brothers hated him because of the favor that was on his life from both God and his earthly father. They hated him for his dreams and desired to stop the call that was placed on his life. They had no idea that their hatred was a part of the plan and that it would actually build character on the inside of Joseph instead of hatred. Joseph had a choice to make concernin...

The Truth Shall Set You Free

I was in an interesting place six years ago. I was unhappy, I was in an un-ordained and emotionally draining relationship, and I was in need of something or someone to rescue me. I kept making the mistake of thinking that I could fill myself up with pills or that somehow my relationship would give me purpose, but those things didn’t work. I was in need of Jesus, but I didn’t know how much I needed Him. Even when I accepted Him as my savior, some negative behaviors still remained. I was still filling my empty places with things that couldn’t give me peace instead of going to the prince of peace. I’m still learning to find my peace in Christ. In this world, we have to learn to break up with those things that many of us are not even aware that we have made gods in place of the everlasting God that we really need to allow to reign over our lives. This time of year is special to me because it was when my Father found me in a desperate state. It is so easy to fake a smile, but God k...

Pass The Test

People have a tendency of telling me that I am nice. Some people say that I am too nice and other people attempt to take advantage of my niceness and mistake it for weakness. The truth is that I am really not that that great, I just get convicted. I cannot treat people any way that I want to and receive the things that God has for me. I cannot kick your cat just because you kicked my dog. There are many instances where I have to apologize, work on my heart, and repent instead of blaming other people for how I feel they treat me. “For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart”. (1 Samuel 16:7) I cannot go before the Lord with a filthy heart and truly believe that he is going to bless me. You have to know who you are in Jesus regardless of how people treat you and you have to respond with wisdom and with the heart of Christ. “Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I...

Heart Inspection: Clean Your House

I remember growing up in a place that required inspections. I used to hate them because I knew that my mom and I would be up all night making sure that the house was clean. I understood that everything had to be just right before the apartment manager came in to make sure that things were how they needed to be, so I got to cleaning. I had two methods of cleaning depending on my mood. I had a lazy way of making everything appear spotless and I had a thorough way of cleaning that I learned from my father and grandmother. When I was in my lazy mood, I just stuffed everything into closets and under the bed because I knew that no one would look there. It produced great results and we passed the inspections. When I cleaned the way that I observed my father cleaning, I would make sure that everything was how it needed to be. I eventually began to dislike things under the bed and I got into the habit of cleaning out my closet. These results also produced great outcomes that I didn’t ha...

A Grace that Covers

Some people live amazing lives in the world’s eyes. They are philanthropist, humanitarians, authors, musicians, painters etc. It’s easy to get up and talk about the lives of people that we think are amazing because WE think that they are amazing, but what about the condition of their hearts. The truth is that we can be whoever we want to be to the world. We can put on a face and fake it ‘til we make it, but God sees the true us. He sees the us that we neatly tuck away to the rest of world. He sees the tears, hurts, fears, medication, sleepless nights, and so much more. The major fault in this is that people don’t give every area of their lives over to God so that we can actually be those great people that we present to the world. God specializes in messes. I should know because I am one. So many times I want to hide and pretend, but God sees right through me. He sees me when I can’t sleep and when I want to do right, but end up failing. There are some days that I fail...

Dusty Crowns: Not Forgetting who You Are and Whose You Are

The LORD is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving (Psalm 28:7). I remember a time in my life when I was not so happy. I remember even asking my mother to put me in some type of facility because I thought that I would find peace there. What was I thinking and why would a thought like that cross my mind? I had no idea who I was or whom I would become in Christ. I just knew that I wanted peace. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:7 ESV ). No one had ever talked to me about changing my mindset, all I understood was that I needed counseling and depression medication. I didn’t understand the power of prayer or the extent of deliverance that I would need to overcome the things that I was battling with. The devil is so precise with his plans against us. He watches us. He watches our ...

Your Response to the Desert will Determine How long You Stay There part 2: Shut up and Let God move

Being quiet does not mean that one i s weak, it can merely mean that that individual is wise. There are some things and some people that deserve no reply. We have to make th e daily choice to either ar gue our way through life's situat ions  or pray our way through it. Know the difference between praying your way out and praying your way through something. Some seasons and environments are meant to grow you. It may feel as if your dying, but you may merely be sweating out the impurities. Hot environments are uncomfortable, but the cactus has everything that it needs to survive in the desert. You have to depend on the water source that you have on the inside of you that no one else may be able to see.     Don't look at the time clock waiting for God to move you because you hate where you are placed on assignment for Him. Instead, look at that same time clock and ask Him when it's time to move on H is behalf where H e has placed you. Be the change agent tha...
