Do we fear God?

King David had such an awareness of God. Many times we pray because we are supposed to. We ask God to get us out of trouble and we even thank Him from time to time, but where is our fear?

David was aware of his sin. He was a man after God’s own heart, but he sinned. Where is your heart?

David knew how to humble himself and repent. David would cover himself with sackcloth while he cried and fasted. How do you repent and are you really sorry? Yes, God is full of mercy and love but are you aware that He does not have to listen to you?

Where is your fear?

Society is no longer afraid of God. People get mad when they are told that God is not pleased with something. We know what pleases God but we are more concerned with pleasing ourselves. We allow things on television that God hates. We plant seeds in our children that produce sin. We accept homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13) and premarital sex (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews13:4). God is not pleased. We are racist and we hate one another. We have lost our awareness of a HOLY GOD who calls for purity and we don’t fear him.

Lord, I pray that a holy nation will rise from the ashes of corruption. I pray for hearts that will return and cry out for you. Lord forgive us for our lack of fear. Have mercy and pity on us in Jesus name, Amen.

NOTES: In the bible, when people were distressed or sad about something, they would tear their clothes, sit in sackcloth, fast and cry out to God.

“When I heard this, I tore my clothes [in distress], pulled hair from my scalp and my beard, and sat down in shock” (Ezra 9:3).

“When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven” (Nehemiah 1:4).

“David pleaded with God for the child; he fasted and lay on the ground all night” (2Saamuel 12:16).

“O my people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes; mourn with bitter wailing as for an only son, for suddenly the destroyer will come upon us”(Jeremiah 6:26).

“In the streets they wear sackcloth; on the roofs and in the public squares they all wail, prostrate with weeping” (Isaiah 15:3).

Waiting for the Promise vs. Moving in Impatience

Preparation in Waiting

One thing that I have learned about God over the years is that his plan for my life is so much greater than my own. I have also learned that his vision can be more than I can bear at times because I have a tendency to try to make the parts that he has revealed to me come to pass on my own. Destined to be Pregnant!

I believe that pregnancy is such a beautiful adventure. I look at all of the pictures that people take at every stage of their pregnancy and it makes me ask the question, what if God allowed us to see our spiritual pregnancy? How would we act and would we take care of the baby that we are carrying? People go through different extremes to get pregnant, let alone carry a baby. How is God preparing you to carry the destiny that he has called you to fulfill? Many people have to lose weight, you might have to lose some friends. Is your baby worth the loss? Other people don’t even want to get pregnant because they don’t want to lose their shape. They care what the world thinks about them and they are comfortable with their current circumstance. Why Are You Here?

During an encounter that I had with a young person recently, I told them that things were difficult for them because there were some things that they would need to do that had never been done before. The analogy that I used to help this person understand what I was saying to them was that of a wilderness full of trees. I told this young person that they would be the first one to cut down the trees in that wilderness to create a smooth path for those coming behind them. The same is true for many of us. There are large trees that we must cut down so that those coming behind us won’t have to fight as hard as we are fighting, and they will not stumble because we are destroying everything at the root that is attempting to block us. The task of doing this may seem difficult but the testimony is worth it. You have to be able to identify the things that have hindered individuals in your lineage, know what the signs of those things are in your own life, and then eliminate it. ...

My Personal Truth

I remember sitting on the bus in middle school and this guy who was older than me told someone that when I started having sex I wouldn’t be able to stop. I was always very quiet, but I thought to myself, how could someone who didn’t know me say such a thing? He was in a sense, speaking over me. I was kinda rebellious as a teen. When destiny is calling your name, it could cost you your purpose if you do not respond. Purpose can sometimes pull you away from all that you are familiar with as it was in the case of both Abraham and Moses. Both of these men had to leave their familiar surroundings so that they could be made and developed into the leaders that God had called them to be. Dad

Mom is one of the greatest gifts that God could have given to us. She’s passionate about us and she fiercely wraps us up in loving protection. She is our cheerleader and the one that understands. In the eyes of a child, mom has all the answers and she is the smartest lady in the world. No one can take the place of mom….. But what about dad? Dad is our strong and mighty tower. Noon is stronger than him and his love holds us together. Mom is important, but there is nothing like the love of a father. Isn’t it funny how we compare “being there” to the presence of a father? Stop questing God about what is taking him so long to bless you and stop comparing you’re “come up” to how the people of the world are operating. God reigns on the just as well as the unjust (Matthew 5:45). Your” hard time” is meant to glorify your father in heaven! Let them look down on you, let them talk about you because guess what, God has some C4 (dunamis power, dynamite) ready that he is about to release on your behalf. You will walk in your destiny, but it will be in God’s timing. God is going to use you in the position that he will himself create for you, but first he has to train you to perform well on the Job.
