Do we fear God?

King David had such an awareness of God. Many times we pray because we are supposed to. We ask God to get us out of trouble and we even thank Him from time to time, but where is our fear?

David was aware of his sin. He was a man after God’s own heart, but he sinned. Where is your heart?

David knew how to humble himself and repent. David would cover himself with sackcloth while he cried and fasted. How do you repent and are you really sorry? Yes, God is full of mercy and love but are you aware that He does not have to listen to you?

Where is your fear?

Society is no longer afraid of God. People get mad when they are told that God is not pleased with something. We know what pleases God but we are more concerned with pleasing ourselves. We allow things on television that God hates. We plant seeds in our children that produce sin. We accept homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13) and premarital sex (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews13:4). God is not pleased. We are racist and we hate one another. We have lost our awareness of a HOLY GOD who calls for purity and we don’t fear him.

Lord, I pray that a holy nation will rise from the ashes of corruption. I pray for hearts that will return and cry out for you. Lord forgive us for our lack of fear. Have mercy and pity on us in Jesus name, Amen.

NOTES: In the bible, when people were distressed or sad about something, they would tear their clothes, sit in sackcloth, fast and cry out to God.

“When I heard this, I tore my clothes [in distress], pulled hair from my scalp and my beard, and sat down in shock” (Ezra 9:3).

“When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven” (Nehemiah 1:4).

“David pleaded with God for the child; he fasted and lay on the ground all night” (2Saamuel 12:16).

“O my people, put on sackcloth and roll in ashes; mourn with bitter wailing as for an only son, for suddenly the destroyer will come upon us”(Jeremiah 6:26).

“In the streets they wear sackcloth; on the roofs and in the public squares they all wail, prostrate with weeping” (Isaiah 15:3).

Visionary: See It Before You See It

One of things that I ask God for in my prayer time is the ability to be able to hear Him. I want to hear God clearly when He speaks to me. I don’t want to drown out His voice which is easy for me to do because I have a tendency to be easily distracted. When God has shown us something, we cannot allow ourselves to get off task. We have to be able to listen to God and we have to be able to envision what He is saying to us. For the past few nights, the word see has been jumping out to me as I read my bible. Before God gave certain people instructions, He told them to see first. Sometimes the personal words that God has for me can be  hard to believe because they are things that I don’t see in myself. Life can sometimes have a way of making us not believe the things that God is saying to us, but we have to be able to see His promises mentally before we actually see them tangibly. Despite what may be going on around you, all you need to do is see . Sometimes you have to see what...

The Private, Matters

“And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.” And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” ( Luke 1:1-20 NKJV).   Zacharias’ prayer was not answered in the way that he thought that it would be. During his prayer time with the Lord, he asked God to allow him and his wife to have a baby, but years passed, and they got older. Zacharias’ went on with his life until his season changed, and it was time. Time for what you may ask; it was time for the blessing of the Lord over this man and wife to come to pass. The issue was that Zacharias had allowed this prayer to leave his heart, and unbelief took its place. Wha...

Kairos:God’s Opportune Time Table

There are moments and seasons that are not defined by man or their opinions. In those moments “their” opinions don’t matter, your background does not matter, and your last name does not matter. Those moments are the ones that define your destiny and triumph over your past. Those seasons are the ones that you are born to walk in and nothing can steal them away from you. That moment and that season is specified as being your kairos moment. Your life, your destiny, your ministry, and your purpose are all in your kairos moment. Everything that you are and ever will be, boils down to that moment. Your kairos moment cannot be defined, manipulated, or determined by man because it is a moment that is determined by God alone.   King David was the underdog. He was the youngest and most different when compared to his brothers. Even the prophet Samuel could not identify God’s chosen vessel in the flesh because God had to reveal to him who the next king would be. Being alone and being the u...

Why Are You Here?

During an encounter that I had with a young person recently, I told them that things were difficult for them because there were some things that they would need to do that had never been done before. The analogy that I used to help this person understand what I was saying to them was that of a wilderness full of trees. I told this young person that they would be the first one to cut down the trees in that wilderness to create a smooth path for those coming behind them. The same is true for many of us. There are large trees that we must cut down so that those coming behind us won’t have to fight as hard as we are fighting, and they will not stumble because we are destroying everything at the root that is attempting to block us. The task of doing this may seem difficult but the testimony is worth it.     You have to be able to identify the things that have hindered individuals in your lineage, know what the signs of those things are in your own life, and then eliminate it. ...

Why I won’t date

So many women define themselves by their relationship status. I used to be one of those women. It didn’t matter if that man cheated on me, lied to me, or insulted me; I was not going to leave him. I needed a relationship to make me feel beautiful and wanted, but at the same time I knew that the men that I was trying to make love me were not ordained for me. Women don’t consider that word, ORDAINED. It’s easy for a man to make us feel loved, wanted, less lonely and desired, but that man cannot make us feel full. That is what I need in my life, fullness. I understand that God is my husband and that my fairy tale love story has to begin with him before I bring a man into the mix. You see, marriage is a union. You become one with your husband. You live with him, you love him, you worship with him and you fight (spiritually) with him. The not so tricky thing about the before mentioned aspects of marriage is that all of those things have to begin in your singleness. I have a tendency...

Who Are You

Everyone knows that if you don’t know who you are in God, the devil will tell you who you are not. The truth is that some things happen in your life to push you closer to God so that He can show you who you are. God has placed so many things on the inside of us that we don’t understand and we won’t understand them until we stop and listen to what he has to say. Will you stop willingly or will he have to sit you down? Jerimiah was a man filled with the word of God, but he did not want to open his mouth. He said that he was young, but I believe that God wanted him to focus on Him and not his own abilities. The world teaches us to look at ourselves. Either you are strong or you are not, but what about God? God is our strength right? So many of us are filled with the wonderful, powerful gifts and anointing of God, but we are afraid to move. Jeremiah probably was always bothered by the things that Israel was doing, but he may have kept it to himself. God gives us a purpose and a desir...

I Pick YOU!!!

I love honest Christians because their truth lets me know that I am not alone. The truth can be a scary thing to admit because it exposes and it uncovers. The truth can shame and it can set free. Some people judge you for your truth and others are grateful that you had the courage to step forward instead of being bound by shame. Your own anointing and your own freedom may very well be in the truth that you so desperately want to hide. God can use those thoughts, those mistakes, and those bad childhood memories to set someone just like you free. You don’t have to be the bad things that people have said about you. It is not their faces or their words that will break chains, it is the anointing that sets free and heals. I often tell the kids that I work with that their story will help others someday. They are more than what people have called them…..   Sometimes people need for you to look at them and see something different than what they have been labeled. They need for you to s...

The process of being stripped

The destruction of your plans allows God to give you a greater anointing and build up your character to how He wants it to be. Israel has endured destruction many times on their road to greatness. God had to tear them down in order to get rid of all the sin and disobedience that they were subjecting themselves to. What you are going through is meant for your good child of God. God is trying to burn up everything in your life that is unlike him. Submit to the process. God is humbling you. As a chosen vessel of the most high God, you cannot act like the world around you. Their god is not your God. Stop prostituting yourself in every club to fit in with the devil's kingdom. What is your character like child of God? Can you handle the success that God wants to give you? God is not trying to punish you Child of God. He is trying to build you up. God is your strong and mighty tower, lean on Him. He is the guard at your city's gates. Those friends, that man/woman in your life have ...

Field Trip to Destiny

On the day that the Lord commanded Moses to send 12 spies into the Land of Canaan, I wonder if any of them grumbled about the opportunity and wondered within themselves “Why do I have to go ?” or “why is God sending me ?”. It’s the craziest thing, God wants to bless us, but we don’t wanna go through nothing. God wants to wow us by sending us on field trips to spy out our destiny, but we yet find a way to miss the abundance and instead come back with a bad report about what God has allowed us to see. You need to fix your vision. Your field trip to spy out destiny is not meant to discourage you, but it is meant to encourage you. When God shows you the land and the better our come that he wants to give you, look past the impossibilities and look to your God for which nothing is impossible. God can’t bless us effectively with an Egypt mentality. We would never be happy because we are still comparing the gifts of God to the scraps we received in that old place that God has delivered u...

Answer The Call

I think that we all know what it’s like to miss an important call, right? We move our schedules around and we keep our phones glued to us; but unfortunately, there are still times when we end up missing that call that means so much to us. How about times when we miss a call that was important, and we were not expecting it? We may recognize the number on the caller id, but the person on the other end has already hung up or they do not answer their phone by time we are able to call them back. To make a long story short, it’s not good to miss an important call. When we do, we become inconvenienced and have to wait for that phone call to come again. We all know what it’s like to miss an important call from a person, but what about the times that we have missed a call from the Lord? We all have so much to do and think about that we miss a special call from Jesus daily. We get so caught up in tradition and prayer times, that we miss the call to be the church at all times. Church is not...
