I think that we have all seen the movie Snow White, right? I’m not going to go
into a summary of the whole movie, but there are a few parts that I would like
to draw attention to. In the movie, the queen loved to look into this magic
mirror and ask it “mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of them all?”
and she was all good as long as the mirror said that it was her. She put this
action into practice on multiple occasions, but a time came when the mirror
told her that there was one fairer than her. The queen was not happy about this
and wanted to take snow white out because she was more beautiful than her. Snow
White was also a lot more accepting and nicer than the queen.
My question for you today is, what does you
spiritual mirror look like? When you look into that spiritual mirror, what do
you see? What do you expect to see? and what would you do if the Holy Ghost
told you that you were not the fairest, cleanest, most forgiving, most loving one
anymore? It feels good when God gives us validation, but what if we get caught
up in ourselves and start becoming more consumed with being the best instead of
being holy in God’s sight?I have days when I don’t want to hear from God, and this tells me that my mirror is dirty, my heart is getting hard and I need to be cleaned. In the bible, God choose Saul to be the first king, but he got caught up in HIS self and in His abilities. Saul become too big for his own britches and God rejected him in order to put someone in place that was after his own heart. Don’t you soooooo desire to be one after God’s own heart? I know that I do, but in order to do this we have to sit back, stop comparing ourselves to other people, and allow God to validate and do a great work in us according to his will.
King Saul and the queen from Snow White have something in common. They both loved and craved the attention and admiration of others. The queen got mad when she was no longer the most beautiful. SAUL Got made when the women sang a song that stated that Saul had killed thousands and David has killed 10 thousands (1 Samuel 18:7). HATE got into their hearts instead of GOD! Which of these words is bigger in your life: Hate or God? Always allow God to have the biggest influence in your life and decision making. When you look into your spiritual mirror, aim, seek, consecrate, and fast so that God can give you a holy report.
