Ground Zero

You are the dirt, God is the contractor.

You used to be a house but God had to tear down the property and evict the previous owners. You won’t stay dirt forever though. God desires to do something new with you and in order for him to do that, he had to tear you down. You are a mansion not a shack! God sees so much potential in what the world saw so little value in, so the old friends (furniture) relationships (walls) and circumstances had to go. You are at ground zero and there is a lot of drilling taking place in your life. God is drilling up that old foundation, dirt and concrete so that you can now be fertile ground, good soil fit for producing fruit.

Every heart ach, every broken promise, every disappointment and every hurtful word now has a purpose. God is saying to you, although you may sow in weeping, you will reap with shouts of joy (psalm 126:5). God is creating a new foundation for you. He is sending builders to motivate and sculpt you to how he wants you to be. God has drawn up so many plans for your life. He wants to show you the blue prints, but the construction is taking place through faith. He is doing such a great work in you that you wouldn't believe it if you saw it.

Pastors and mentors are sent to build up your confidence. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). God is planting his word in and watering you daily. Stay in the word! Get to know the One that is over the total construction of your life.

God is building you up so that you will be able to stand on your own. Don’t fret when mentors, leaders and friends leave. They have done their job and are not meant to be a crutch in your life.

You listen to God!

You hear what he is saying!

Stop depending on others to speak to God on your behalf. He who has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

Stop trying to rebuild your house in the very neighborhood that God is moving you out of ! God has uprooted you to the best community there is. Sure construction may be slow and sure the rain may seem to halt progress, but God has not given up on the project.

Child of God, you are bought and paid for with a price! Stop trying to sell yourself off to new owners because you think that God has left you. Look around you. Don’t you see the walls God is building up around you? Faith is the cure and the answer child of God.

The Process of Faithing It: Trusting Jesus with Your Faith

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction” (Mark 5:34 NKJV). Can you imagine Jesus in a crowd? Everyone has a need, but His target in that moment is to go and build the faith of a little girl’s family at the request of her father because they think that she will die. The father is scared, but Jesus was on the way until He felt something. This feeling was different, but powerful. Jesus turns around looking, asking questions, but finds his answer in the form of a woman, standing and looking amazed at what just happened to her. After 13 years of anemia, tiredness, dizzy spells, soiled clothing, and impacted relationships, she is healed. “Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.” (Luke 15:22 ESV) I have carried myself around as someone who had no divine ownership. I’ve acted like a peasant and not a family member of God, accepting scraps because I thought that was my worth, when all along God has placed a robe of grace and love over my shoulders that I was blind to until now. The love of God is like the love that the prodigal son’s father had for him. This father allowed his son to make choices that he knew were harmful because his son had the free will to do so. It was not that the son didn’t know better, he just lacked the maturity to know that that he belonged to a father that loved him. Give your self-permission to receive and walk in the grace that God gives you. King David had to allow himself to receive grace. He was not perfect, but he knew how to remorsefully repent and he knew how to position himself at the feet of the King. David messed up while walking in his purpose. He tried to hide his sin, but God saw it and confronted him on it. We have to know how to receive God when He confronts us with the good, the bad, and the ugly. We can choose to continue to sin or we can choose to submit to our Father and repent. God does not expect for us to be perfect, but He does expect for us to be submitted. Keep Your Lamp Filled

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept” (Matthew 25:1–5). Everyone had the same mindset to go to the same place for the same reason. Everyone was on their way, but partial action was taken by five of the virgins. The bridegroom had the capacity to care for all ten. The Importance of Knowing How to Pray

No matter what mental state you are in, where you are in life, or who you have around you, prayer will always be the heartbeat of your survival. You need to know how to pray during both the mountain top experiences and the valley experiences. If no one ever taught me anything, I learned how to express myself to God through prayer. Prayer isn’t always about asking God for things, but you can actually sit with Him and tell Him how you feel. There have been moments in my life where I felt like the Lord was the only one that I could talk to about what was going on in my life. You have to get into a place where you begin to communicate with God as you would with anyone else. There are times when I speak out loud to God because I know that He is around me. God’s presence is peace, it changes the atmosphere, and it will shift your entire mood. Once you’ve talked to the Father, you know that everything will be ok just because He is around you. Matters of the Heart

Sometimes we need for God to check us. We need for him to put us in our place and to remind us of what we have been asking him about. My desire, starting now, is to dedicate my attitude and my job to him. I do not want for my job to just be a place where I can make an income, I want for it to be a ministry. Now, there is one major thing that stands in the way of my desire and that is my attitude. I have to change my way of thinking to see the way that God sees. It is very easy to become like your co-workers if you do not watch yourself. During the orientation at the place of my employment, the instructor advised my class to leave our hearts in the car. During the first couple of days that was hard for me to do, but after being there a while, I found myself leaving my feelings at the door on many occasions. Shame on me!
