“Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice” ( 1 Kings 19: 11-12 NKJV).
One the things that I love about a snippet of what Elijah encountered was that he was over it. Despite all that he was used to do for God, he got so overwhelmed that he wanted to hand over his well worn towel.
God allowed us to see this part of purpose because He does not ignore it. He knows how we feel and what we battle through individually.
God sees the tears and the sadness, but this does not mean that we are allowed to give up. For many of us, when we try to give God our purpose soaked towels, he throws them back to us and tells us to put our heads back into the game.
I pray to be a reminder to you today. I pray to help you remember that no one painted a perfect picture of butterflies and told us that everyday would be full of smiles. Everyday will not be a “show all your teeth moment”. There may be storms and sometimes you may feel as if you are drowning, but the Abba Father who sends you to proclaim His name in the earth is faithful.
On the same day that Elijah wanted to chuck the duces, God sent an angel to feed him when some parts of him were starving. God also allowed Him to hear the most important voice ever. The still small one.
Be encouraged kingdom siblings! We got this
through Christ who strengthens us.
God, I thank you that you speak in the midst of sadness and chaos. I thank you that your spiritual handkerchief speaks volumes through the wiping away of many rivers of tears. I thank you for your still and small, but powerful voice. I thank you that you don’t have to yell at me to comfort my soul, but you can shake the mountains that try to block my heart from reaching you. Thank you Abba for
Your voice. In Jesus name, Amen.
